I'm as sick as a dog today. Thursday was okay, Friday was bad, Saturday was worse, but today the cold combined with staying up last night until 3:00 AM reading scanlated doujinshi really got to me. I don't have yesterday's headache from hell, but I do have a new cough! Isn't it wonderful?
I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing for NaNoWriMo now. I was going to do vampires in high school with a focus on the unhealthily abusive relationship between the two secondary characters from the point of view of the main character, but while I still want to do abusive relationship, I may cut out the vampires altogether. Or maybe not ... I won't really know 'til I start writing, will I?
I'm hoping Georgia will do it with me. She seems excited about it. Secilia's probably going to back out, though--she just keeps trying to tell me she sucks at writing, which is bologna. (Are you reading this, Seilia?) The only thing that a person
might be "incapable" of doing is handling grammar, punctuation, spelling, or capitalization, and since she had the same awesomely good eighth grade English teacher I did, I know she's good with that. All anyone needs after that is constant practice. Someone, somewhere, is going to like what you write. Even if they don't, you shouldn't be doing it for other people anyway. You should be doing it for yourself, which I think is a major problem for a lot of people.
I won't lie, I have it too, but I'm trying to fix it. It's working ... slowly.
